I’ve been stepping away very slowly from digital to film. Don’t get me wrong, I love the convenience of digital, but there is something about film that just takes the art of photography to a whole other level. I’ve been documenting with Tri-X film and am enjoying the results. I am using a Canon A1 with various FD lenses. A camera I purchased a few years back pretty inexpensively. It has been sitting on my shelf in my office, but recently has been getting a lot of use.
I am relishing in the fact of how film photography forces you to slow down. It is very easy to get lazy with digital photography, but film requires some thought. I have been debating on setting up a darkroom in my home, as I am currently using a scanner to scan the negatives. The one thing I love about documenting in film is less of a need to edit. The images below were not edited and are straight from the camera. I really enjoy printing images so maybe I might take the plunge.
