A few days ago, my son and I hit up our local bookstore to purchase the Audubon Field Guide to Trees. We live in Colorado in a suburb about 45 minutes outside of Denver with lots of trees and nature options. We have a large backyard that houses lots of different trees, shrubs and a creek. As an inquisitive 4 year old, my son is always asking me what is this, what is that, and lately it has been about the trees. We have an assortment of pines, firs, cedars, a very tall cottonwood, Locusts, and Maple trees. I only know this now, due to my sons inquisitive nature and researching the field guide.
To be more specific the images below are from two of our many trees; a small Arizona Cypress & Douglas fir. These are two that my son chose to identify for today.
